"Back in 1993 when I was 11 years old and first picked up a guitar, I knew this was what I was going to do with my life", says Brian Vodinh, the founder and former drummer/NOW guitarist in veteran rock act 10 Years and founding member of Brave the Royals. Brian goes on to say, "Music is so multi-dimensional and has so many emotions, for me, Brave the Royals is a completely different feeling and emotion from 10 Years. BTR is more primal, sometimes more experimental, and little bit more punctuated...and 10 Years is my thoughtful, well-educated and more sensitive child."
Brave the Royals has carved their own path with their debut self-titled release, an 11-song onslaught of fuzzy guitars and animalistic drum patterns. Throw in the gritty overtones of Matt Wright's soaring vocals and you have an album that makes your heart race and your voice sing. Songs like "Break My Bones" showcase a fast paced and heavy handed rhythm section with vocal hooks that rival anything on active rock radio, while "All That's Left" is a 10 plus minute song that takes the listener on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.
This is just the beginning of an outstanding life of music for Brave the Royals.
